I installed it, tried again, and it said I was missing another one, so I kept doing that: sudo apt-get install -y libxcursor1 sudo apt-get install -y libnss3 So if you disable the display manager (by default GDM) it will boot into console. From there you can start a display server and graphical application (like GNOME or edex).
